Pressure Dye Test - 5

The paint pot needed to be modified slightly by plugging the air outlets. The pot comes from Harbor Freight with the regulator but you will have to get the necessary air fittings to close the unwanted outlets. I also beefed up the regulator attachment to the pot lid from 1/8" to 1/4" pipe after I broke it from torquing it too much while tightening fittings.

Here the air compressor is attached to the paint pot and the pot's regulator is adjusted up to about 50 psi. The stated operating range of this pot is 30-60 psi for painting. It is stamped on the lid not to exceed 80 psi but I don't think it will effectively hold much more than 50psi. It started leaking pretty good past that.

My compressor is set to shutoff at 120psi and turns back on at 100psi. If you wanted to pressurize something for several hours or even days, the pressure would remain constant in the pot with the compressor attached and powered on.
