One hour later...still sitting a 50psi. I backed off the pressure from the compressor with the paint pot regulator and pulled the air release valve. Now I can safely remove the lid. DON'T FORGET TO RELEASE THE PRESSURE BEFORE TRYING TO REMOVE THE LID. If I didn't do that, I could have added another image showing the colorful results of a boneheaded move.
